CHEF AT HEART - Cooking for the health of it
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Afford a Personal Chef?
Yes, you can! At Chef At Heart we understand everyone lives on a budget. Just add up the time spent planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning. Add on the money you save by not eating out and the increased health benefits from replacing take-out with delicious, home-cooked meals. You soon realize that a personal chef service is quite affordable. Use us as a one-time service, bi-weekly, or monthly. It's your choice.

What kind of prices am I looking at?
A brief overview of our pricing includes:
Appetizers & Hors d'oeuvres: items are priced individually and range from $1 to $5 each, and some specialty platters are priced at $5 to $10 per person.

Dinner & Cocktail Parties: pricing based on cost per person.

Personal Chef Service: pricing based on professional hourly fee + cost of groceries (unless selecting items from our Prix Fixe menu). This service also includes a packaging fee which may be refundable at the end of service.

What if my Kitchen Doesn't Have Something You Need?
Not to worry. Our chef brings all their own equipment and utensils. We only need to use your oven and ask that you leave us a little refrigerator and freezer space on the specified cooking date.

What if I'm on a Special Diet?
At Chef At Heart our chef works with you to design dishes that meet your specific needs, whatever they are.

Do You Need to Cook in my Home?
Yes. Health regulations require personal chefs to prepare all meals in your home or in a commercial kitchen. Using a commercial kitchen would mean an increase in the cost of your service.

Do I Need to be Home on my Cooking Date?
After your initial consult with Chef At Heart, you decide if you want to be home on your cooking date. As a member of the Canadian and United States Personal Chef Association, our chef must abide by a strict code of ethics.
